Will my settings be saved if I temporarily switch themes to troublieshoot?

I am currently troubleshooting a problem with comments not working correctly. I’ve seen so many references to switching to Twenty-Ten theme to rule out a theme related issue. I’m not a coder of any kind. If I switch to another theme, will I be able to seamlessly return to my current theme, which was highly customized for me? Or will I have lost something in the process? I do want to fix the comments problem, but not create a larger one in trying to do so. Thank you!
