    Hello,
I want to deactivate this plugin but it will not deactivate. I’ve tried several times, but it’s still there. I’ve tried clearing my caches several times as well. Can I simply remove the plugin files manually?
    Thanks

    Hi Cheryl,

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

The best thing is to examine your error log for any errors associated with deactivating, as whilst not specifically an issue with his plugin, there are many complex factors which may end up with an issue. Normally your control panel has access to an error log. Also you can read here. https://www.ads-software.com/support/article/debugging-in-wordpress/

If there is an error logged specifically related to this plugin please post it here.

To ‘force’ a deactivation of a plugin, using a file manager navigate to wp-content/plugins and delete the folder ( in this case stop-user-enumeration ) . If you are unsure how to do this contact your host a or a WordPress developer.

    Best regards,

    Alan
