I had to change my password on Pinterest and now it no longer connects to my plugin.

There is a red banner saying “Could not fetch account status. [Reconnect to your Pinterest account]” but clicking it does nothing.

Under catalog overview, there is also an alert saying “reconnect to your Pinterest account” but that is not clickable either.

When I go to the connection tab and try to disconnect, it looks like it’s doing something, redirects me to a welcome page, but when I click to start setting up my account again, it’s still connected with the old settings and errors. Nowhere to reset my password.

I’ve tried deactivting/reactivating the plugin and it still won’t disconnect.

    Using version 1.1.0

    Hello @andreashelley

I have to admit it’s the first time I’ve seen such an error,
try these steps to restart your feed ingestion.

    1. Go to Settings tab on “Marketing > Pinterest”
    2. Disable “Enable product sync”
    3. Enable “Erase Plugin Data” and Save
    4. Go to Connection tab on ?”Marketing > Pinterest”
    5. Disconnect your accoun by clicking on “Disconnect”?
    6. Deactivate and uninstall “Pinterest for WooCommerce”
    — At this point no feed should be present on /wp-content/uploads, no settings on the table wp-options, no Scheduled actions related to Pinterest and no feed registered on Pinterest—
    7. Go to Pinterst Bisness and unclaim your web site,
Top right corner > settings > Claimed accounts > Unclaim
    8. Install again “Pinterest for WooCommerce”
    9. Restart the Pinterest onboarding?
    10. Wait 24hs until Pinterest approve the catalog?`

Let me know if that helps.

That seems ridiculous just for a changed password. If I unclaim my website, I lose my verified merchant status and have to start over with the verification process. And if I ever change my password again, I have to do it again.

Not to mention if I erase all plugin data, after I reinstall I’ll have to go through all of my products to set the “condition” again since there’s no bulk way to do that.

Obviously a huge glitch in the plugin that should be fixed.

Well, I went through the steps despite my better judgment and it doesn’t work.

I got to step two in the plugin onboarding “verify your website” and it just puts up an error every time. “there was an error saving the settings”

I did all the prior steps, even unclaiming my website on Pinterest. Now everything is disconnected, and the plugin won’t do anything.

    Hello @andreashelley,

What you’ve described now sounds like a bug we’re fixing, we’ll release an update in a few days. Maybe you should try to install the same version you had 1.1.0.

    Let me know.

    Best,

    The same problem.

Just tried installing the latest update and still the same problem.

“there was an error saving the settings” during the “verify your website” step.

Pinterest has now put me on notice to lose my verified status if I don’t solve the issues by July 17.

What is going on with this plugin? It can’t even get through the setup stage. Please help.

    Hello @andreashelley,

When onboarding, on the last tab where you confirm your page and save changes you have a drop-down list, try changing the Track conversions : Advertiser option if you have it.

    if not:

Please follow this steps to restart your feed ingestion.

    1. Go to Settings tab on “Marketing > Pinterest”
    2. Disable “Enable product sync”
    3. Enable “Erase Plugin Data” and Save

I can’t even get to the step where you set up conversion tracking. In setup, I can’t get past step #2: verify your website. Which also means I can’t do the other steps because the only option I have under marketing >> pinterest is “get started”.

None of the other menus will show up until I can get through set up. Which I can’t.

This is the “official” Pinterest/WooCommerce plugin and it absolutely does not work. When will you be fixing this?

    Hello @andreashelley,

Check on Pinterest Bisness unclaimed your page. It is in the user settings and claimed accounts and then go onboarding.

Yes, I did that also. No change. I still get the same error “there was an error saving the settings”

When I check on Pinterest after, it has re-claimed my website for me, it’s just the setup that is glitching and won’t let me get to the next step.

    HEllo @andreashelley,’

Hold on as long as you can, because the new version will come out in a few days, because this one did not help everyone

That’s right I didn’t say you should keep the right order because some logs get saved

Please follow this steps to restart your feed ingestion.

    1. Go to Settings tab on “Marketing > Pinterest”
    2. Disable “Enable product sync”
    3. Enable “Erase Plugin Data” and Save
    4. Go to Connection tab on ?”Marketing > Pinterest”

    7. Unclamed the Piterest side
    8. Install again “Pinterest for WooCommerce”
    9. Restart the Pinterest onboarding
    10. Wait 24hs until Pinterest approve the catalog?

The new version came out so I did the update, unclaimed my site again, and tried to do the setup all over. STILL THE SAME ISSUE.

“there was an error saving the settings” when I try to verify my website.

I can’t do ANY of the other steps you mentioned because I can’t get through setup and therefore have no other menus. I have unclaimed and reclaimed probably 30 times now and STILL the same error.
