Will the new “default” theme be update anymore?

I think it would be safe to assume that the theme stands a very good chance of being updated until the final release and possibly afterward. I think you might want to read up on “child themes”, a method that allows you to make modifications to a theme and still allow it to be updated without the risk of loosing your modifications. It is fairly simple to do. Check out the following tutorials:

I’m amazed. I’ve been using WordPress for a few years now, and i’ve always heard that what makes it such as successful project (besides the fact WordPress is awesome already) is that the community is great, but so far i had never posted here…
