    Hello,

I’m working on a website that is hosted on a server I use for development purposes (and only that). I noticed that your plugin works via inserting shortcodes into WordPress posts and that these shortcodes include the domain name.

Since I have to add a lot of PDF’s to the site (a couple of dozens) and don’t want to do the embedding all over again when I upload my WordPress installation to the proper server, I’d like to ask you whether your plugin will automatically adjust my URLs when I change domains?
If no, can I just manually change the shortcodes so that they refer to the domain I’ll use? I know it will cause an error as the plugin does not allow the insertion of PDFs from other domains, but it’s the only temporary workaround I’ve come up with.

Thanks a lot for your help.
    Have a great day,
    Tomasz.

    Tomasz,

If the shortcodes contain the URLs from the dev site then you are right they won’t work directly on the new site.

However, you should be able to change manually.

Or even better use a proper site migration tool such as WP Migrate DB. This will do a ‘search and replace’ throughout your site and will be a much more robust way to manage this migration.

Please get in touch via email if you have any other questions – I may not pick up replies on this site.

    Thanks,
