    Hey diannna,

The honest answer is that we’re not quite sure yet exactly what the Instagram changes will mean long term for the plugin. The plugin will be able to continue to work in some capacity but some of the functionality may have to change to accommodate the Instagram API restrictions that are forthcoming. Once we know more we’ll be updating our website with more information about what exactly the changes will mean for the plugin after June and how the plugin will be changing to accommodate them.

If you have any other questions at all then just let me know, and I hope you’re having a good day!

    John

@diannna Instagram wants everyone to use their app. So killing apps that use their API would also be detrimental for them.
    As stated –

June 1st, 2016: All existing apps must comply with new policies and have gone through the app permissions review process

My guess – New policies will be published, some modification will be applied to API usage. However this also means you may get new features as well as have to say goodbye to some old features.
