    Hi Mark,

No problem…hopefully I can help you out here. There are two things that WP-SpamShield helps with: 1) Comments, and 2) Contact Forms. Comments are on the blog posts where people can write what they want to say at the end of the post…you don’t need to modify anything for these to work. The Contact Forms are usually a separate page where people can where contact you, for example for a business, or to contact the author of a blog – this type sends a private email to the specified person at that website. (These are what you add the [spamshieldcontact] to get.)

Here is an example of each:

    • Contact Page Example – this is what you use the [spamshieldcontact] for.
    • Comments Example – This is WordPress’ default setup for commenting…you don’t need to do anything special for this to work.

Hopefully that clears it up. Let me know if you need help with anything else.

    hi Scott,

I am mostly interested in helping to reduce blog comment spamming – the ‘contact us’ form I have with the theme uses captcha – so I wont play with that.

I will certainly give your plugin a go with regards to the blog comment form – so thanks very much for clarifying.

    Mark.
