will velvet blues work with old html (non wordpress) pages

  • A new web developer has created a new wordpress site for an old client of mine. The old site is all html pages created with dreamweaver. If she uses velvet blues on the new web site, can she input all the old url’s to redirect to her new WP pages? The site is currently ranked high and we don’t want him to lose his rankings.

    If this will not work, do I need to just enter a redirect script on all the pages?

  • It’s highly unlikely unless you can get the old site into WordPress first.

    If it’s just plain old HTML, perhaps you could do the some ‘search and replace’ magic (over all the .html files at once) with a text editor like Notepad++.
