Hello, I am trying to add Woocommerce to an existing blog.

The style of the OLD blog pages and posts should remain the same.

As part of Woo configuration it asks to install a theme. The path of the theme is /wp-admin/theme-install.php?browse=block-themes

What will happen if I install this theme? WIll this new Woocommerce theme be visible only in the shop related pages, or it will overwrite and change the view of the existing blog pages too?

For me it is important to NOT change the style of the existing blog.

The shop related pages, ie. /shop/…. /product/xyz can have a new theme.

For example, the following pages can have a new theme:

But the following should keep the same style as it is now:

Can you please help to understand what will happen if I install a Woocommerce theme as the wizard asks?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @

    Thanks for reaching out!

When you install a new theme through WooCommerce, it will generally apply to your entire website, including both shop-related and non-shop related pages. This means that it could potentially change the look and feel of your existing blog pages.

However, WooCommerce is designed to work with any WordPress theme, so you don’t necessarily have to use a WooCommerce-specific theme. If you want to maintain the current design of your blog pages, you can simply continue using your current theme and just add WooCommerce functionality to it.

If you want to apply a different theme to your shop-related pages only, this would require some custom coding. It’s not something that WooCommerce supports out of the box. You might need to hire a developer or find a plugin that can help you set this up.

    Hope this helps!
