Willing to port to PostgreSQL. Preferred method?

  • Fellow PostgreSQL users and WordPress developers: I’m willing to step up and start work on a PostgreSQL port. I’m aware of the current porting effort and the “Using Alternative Databases” stub at the Codex, but:

    • I feel the current port is rudimentary and outdated
    • The Codex doesn’t hint on a preferred porting aproach

    So if you had your way, what would it be?
