Wincher integration
-
I just saw the notification for Yoast 17.9 and its integration with yet another third-party service I’ve never heard of (Wincher?). Therefore, I must ask yet again:
- Is this integration turned on by default upon upgrade to 17.9?
- What data, if any, does this integration send to Wincher or other third parties?
- If it does send any data to third parties, to whose privacy policy (or privacy policies) is that data subject? Is there a data processing agreement or CCPA service provider agreement that will cover that sharing of data? (I don’t see any reference to either in a quick look at the Wincher website.)
- If I do not intend to use this integration, does it send any data to third parties (e.g., upon activation of the updated plugin)?
I continue to be frustrated at the integration of more and more third-party integrations in the Yoast SEO plugin. Each time, they raise the same questions about data protection, about which your team really seems remarkably unconcerned, and the amount of bloat is unwelcome. If you want to add this kind of promotional bloatware, can’t you keep it to your premium products?
