    Hi Guys,

Another humble devotee of your magnificent plugin here. Could you please advise me on this if you get a spare minute?:

I run a small live bands for hire website. When a customer is viewing the different live bands on our site, I’d love to include a “Wishlist” button on the individual band pages, where they can add them to a shortlist along with any other bands they like the look and sound of, and when finished perusing, they can click on the wishlist button, and that presents a form with the bands all listed, that they can then proceed to fill out their name, address, date of their event/party etc.. and then send that completed form to us, so we can tell them if those bands are available for them, and their fee for their performance. How can I make this all work with Foprminator? Do you have a wishlist, or shortlist/favourites option I can add in?

Thank you for all your superb Forminator work, and incredible support replies!

    Hello @stumur ,

I’m afraid that Forminator doesn’t have a Wishlist option. It can present a form and send that form, but how do you trigger to show the form, it’s beyond the scope of the plugin.

Maybe you can use Hustle plugin https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wordpress-popup/ to have a popup that is triggered on a click and inside the popup, you can show form from Forminator?

    kind regards,

Thanks Kasia. On a side note, is the Hustle plugin your best one for social sharing? I tried it just now – it’s great, but I can only find around 20 social platforms listed in the form to plug into it – lots missing at this stage, is that right, or have I just not seen how to add more than the ones presented? I was hoping to integrate a few more, including most importantly an SMS option I’ve seen in other share plugins. Is this possible, do you think?

    Hi @stumur

Hustle is the only one of our plugins for this and yes, there’s currently only a pre-defined set of platforms, I’m afraid.

We do have some improvements for it already planned, though, and one of them is ability to add custom icons/services too.

As for SMS option, would you please elaborate a bit on that – what do you mean/how should it work?

    Best regards,

I’ve tried a few of the well-known social sharing plugins, and am currently using a plugin that runs all the usual hundreds of Social sharing options, but includes an “SMS” button also. I think it only works when the person is searching with their phone. When clicked, it opens a new SMS message with the preferred pre-formatted text and weblink attached. Nothing happens if clicked from a desktop/laptop though, in my experience. It’s a VERY attractive feature, I think, that potential customers can click the SMS button to send to a friend or influential other, to help them with their decisions.

    Hi @stumur

I hope you are doing well.

Indeed, I don’t see any feature request to implement SMS to the Hustle plugin for example.

I sent this idea to our developers and designers for further discussion.

Sorry to bother you again guys.. Could you please take a look at my “My Shortlist” page here:

    https://thelivemusicagency.affordaband.co.uk/my-shortlist/

and let me know how this form can include the Shortlisted bands the customer might have included onto this page when they clicked the “Bookmark This Band” button earlier to create a shortlist? So far, when I click the “Send Shortlist” button to test the page, it only sends me the form, but the included bands on the Shortlist don’t get sent with it. Is there a way to include them?

    Hi @stumur

As mentioned previously, there is no such “whishlist” support. I’m not sure how the site currently stores these shortlists but to “fetch them” into the form you would need some custom code that would read it first and then “prefill” the form.

It would require quite a bit of custom coding. Unless I’m missing something – but I can’t test how to add bands to shortlist as it’s only available to logged-in users (note: please do not post any access credentials here). Can you explain/describe a bit more how exactly storing that “shortlist” data/what exactly happens (code-wise) when user clicks on that “bookmar this band”?

Or am I mistaking “bookmark this band” with “add to my shortlist”? I’m sorry if I do but I’m not much familiar with your site yet so please correct me if I’m wrong.

    Best regards,
    Adam

Thanks again Adam – you guys are always immense in your much-appreciated replies here.

The current shortlist plugin I was discussing with you here is one I’m currently probably going to deactivate – it’s reliant on people signing up first with me before they can have the simple functionality of adding a band to a list they can then send me.. It’s the last in a long line of basic plugins I thought would do the job, but every single one so far has required customers sign-up before they can interact with the shortlist/favourite/bookmark or whatever its called plugin. I’m yet to find anything that simply allows someone to favourite/bookmark/shortlist a band, and then just send that list to me with a message of their requirements.. I thought it would be simple. Maybe I just haven’t found one yet, but I have tried so many. I’ll keep looking and I hope to get back to you when I find one. Thanks again, Stu.
