With the newest update I can't get the hyperlinks out of the way

  • With this newest update I can’t get the hyperlink box out of the way so I can continue writing my blog post. I have to save a copy of the draft each time to get rid of it. This is an extreme waste of time. I thought oh well they will surely notice this and fix it within a day or two but it is still a problem. Am I going to have to install a previous version? I don’t understand why they did this. For one the place where you are supposed to just put your link would not open up in a different tab so who would want to use this and direct people away from their blog? But even when you hit the gearbox and check to open in a new tab this box stays in the way and you cannot even finish typing your post. I want to insert my links as I go not come back after I am finished to do it. Please tell me someone is going to fix this ASAP.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.
