With update, featured slider images are pixelated

With the new update of Twenty Fourteen, my featured slider images are zoomed in and pixelated when the site is at maximum width. I’ve tried making my images 3000px wide and still the same issue. How can I fix this? Extra wide images are great, but only when they are crisp…
