With version 1.3.3, plugin asks for license key

Why is the plugin asking for a license key now? I noticed the update but there was nothing in the changelog about this plugin moving to a subscription model, and there’s no information about this change on your website. If you’re going to move to a paid license model, you should inform your users in the changelog and documentation. As far as I can tell, there’s nothing currently in place to acquire a license key either.

I’m reluctant to apply this update until I can get more information.
