With wpml are the media files tripled?

    Hello My client’s site has gotten too big and I am trying to clean it out. I am using an older version of folders, but need to keep that for now until I get the site down to a size that I can back it up properly. For some reason, sometime in the past a bunch of unresized images were uploaded which made the site very big and image heavy. So I have spent a bunch of time deleting some images. I have brought it down by 300 photos but just noticed that the library only shows those photos deleted when the language selector is set to English. But when I set the language selector to other two languages, the library seems to have all the images I just deleted again and the total files goes up to the original before I deleted any files. I am wondering if switching to pro or upgrading will fix this. Or if I can just delete the folders plugin as my client did not really use the feature and put different photos in different folders, only a few are categorized and the rest are all in the main directory. I don’t want to spend any more time deleting photos if they are not actually getting deleted.

    Hi, as a matter of fact, indeed we had an incompatibility with WPML in an older version of Folders. A bug fix is available in the latest version. I am not sure however if the issue you are facing is related to the same bug fix. I’d recommend updating to check. Regardless please note Folders creates virtual folders only and they have no impact over your actual files. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us at [email protected]
