Withdraw consent button cookie policy

    Hi there,

    In the bottom of the cookie policy there is a button ‘Trek cookie toestemming in’ (withdraw consent). The text of this button is the same whether or not consent has been given. And thus if current status is accepted or not accepted. Which tmho is not correct: if no consent has been given, you cannot withdraw consent.

    When I click the button the cookie settings banner opens up, so I suppose the purpose of the button is to change the cookie settings? So: “wijzig cookie instellingen’ (change cookie settings)?

    How can I change the content/text of that button? I cannot find it in the .po file. And in case I would change it there it will get overwritten with the next update (or I should save it in the theme files which is not taking into account possible new strings in future).

    So, if you agree with me, I guess it is even better to update this in the plugin itself?

    Hi @monique23,

    This is actually on our backlog. We are looking for a way to include the categories here as well.

    If you want to change the text beforehand, I would suggest using FTP/or the plugin editor to change line 105 in the functions.php – This will get overwritten with a new update, which is today – between today’s update and the next we will add the new text ourselves. Hope this helps!

    I was just installing your plugin on a client’s website and changed the text of the button following your instructions and that works well ??

    If you can include the categories here as well that would even be better.

    Hi Aert,

    Can you let me know when the plugin will be updates with the a.m. text?

    I noticed another small ‘error’ in a translation. I tried to change it in the .po file but that won’t work. It concerns the placeholder text “Klik om alle marketing cookies te accepteren deze inhoud te activeren”. Better would be “Klik om alle marketing cookies te accepteren en deze inhoud te activeren” (with “en”).

    Hi @monique23,

    I just corrected the error in Dutch formal + informal, as well as Belgian Dutch :-). Thank you for bringing that to our attention.

    We are finalizing tests for the revoke consent functionality, with the implementation of categories. While we have no definitive release date planned, we hope to release this within the next two weeks.
