    Hi,

I did a plugin translation with Loco but received this message:
Notice: Changes to this file may be overwritten or deleted when you update WordPress.

Please, could you tell me how to avoid this overwritten?

    Tks

    Hi Tim!

I’m reading it but I’m not 100% sure about what is needed!

Should I use the strictest setting (“disallow”) blocks all write operations to potentially sensitive files?

Could I just copy via cPanel File Manager the files in wp-content/languages/plugins to wp-content/languages/loco?
Should I keep the files in booth folders?

    Help me, please.

    Tks

if you want to avoid overwriting files then yes – enable the “disallow” option as this prevents overwriting these files.

Regarding your last question: yes, you could copy the files if you like. What are you actually trying to do?

    I’m just translated a plugin.

So, I’ll Disallow and copy the files to the Loco folder too.

Thank you so much to the help!

    One more question…

If I set Disallow it will set to all plugins or just this one I want?

It applies to all files in all plugins that Loco Translate decides in unsafe. It only applies when Loco Translate is asked to write over a file. It does not apply to write operations performed by WordPress or by other plugins.
