I’ve been using this plugin for over a year, everything worked as it should. But all of a sudden the player stopped working and my podcast episodes n longer reach apple podcast or google. It seems this happened a few episodes ago. No idea how to solve the issue. THE PLAY Button does not play the episode and episodes are no longer being sent over to the channels. Please fix this.

    site: itspodcast dot com

Download and open in new window works, but my listeners are all on apple and google podcast. Please fix this.

    Hi @ravet007,
The problem is that your server responds with the wrong content type for the audio file URL.

Example – to /podcast-player/1999/its-podcast-episode-78-light-urban-vehicles-and-autonomous-transportation.mp3, it responds with

    Content-Type: text/html; charset=UTF-8

Instead of redirecting to the real file path.

It can be either your cache plugins or server settings. Please try to disable all your cache plugins and check if it helps. If not, ask your hosting support if they recently made any server settings changes.

I don’t think that is the issue, I added another play button below from another plugin and it works fine. The issue is only happening with SSP player. Even the RSS feed and sitemap are not working. The feed also comes from SSP, it throws a weird error – error on line 1 at column 8: XML declaration allowed only at the start of the document.

I checked with the hosting company, all good on their end. I disabed and cleared all cache. The issue still remains.

Everything was working fine until recently.

I fixed it by replacing the core files. No idea what the issue was, but it is working now. Thank you.

Since you managed to fix the issue, can I ask you to change your 1-start review to something else?

I left a new review, I could not find the previous one.
