Wonderful solution for simple brochure sites
-
I’ve been playing with the Simply Static plugin with the idea that for simple brochure sites I can use my preferred site-building tools, Beaver Builder/Genesis, to create an interesting dynamic and responsive site, and then convert it to a static html site to deploy, and not have to have the client worry about keeping stuff updated, or the site getting hacked, etc.
It looks like I can use a Dreamweaver-like approach with WordPress, Genesis, and Beaver Builder to create websites that the client won’t be able to edit, but probably won’t get hacked either…
I have a subset of clients with sites like this, family therapists for example, that only have a few pages, no blog, and haven’t changed their content in literally the last year or two, where it would make sense to convert them to static sites.
Oh and BTW, the static deployment on really cheap shared hosting is as fast, or faster, than the WordPress version on top-of-the line WordPress-specific hosting, with all kinds of speed optimizations. And it’s probably less likely to get hacked too.
