Wondering is my theme is outdated? Coders with free time help?

Alright, some time ago I created a WordPress Theme from this post here and admittedly the post was a little dated when I used it, but it was and still is the only one I really understood enough to make it through. (Though I do admit it has some small issues with the sidebar… but I digress.) The actual point of this post is that there may or may not be features with the new WordPress that I am missing out on because my code is outdated. I was wondering is it would be possible for someone who knows about WordPress Theme coding to take a look at my files and see if there is anything I should fix or change. Anything that may need cleaned up. Again, this is only is someone has a bit of free time.
