    Hey Frank,

I have Autoptimize installed on multisite and ran into a problem that I was hoping you could address. Then while I was writing I came up with an idea and it worked so I thought I would share.

I tried activating the plugin on a few of my sites that use a mapped domain name and it simply would not activate and the site would become non-responsive.

I then tried activating the plugin logging in with the original unmapped sub-domain and it worked like a charm.

So, for whatever reason if you are using multisite, a mapped domain name and are unable to activate the plugin, then try activating via the original sub-domain.

    Cheers,

    Pat

thanks for the feedback Pat. I am, however, somewhat surprised, as AO is (or at least was) fully compatible with domain mapped (using https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wordpress-mu-domain-mapping/). are you using that plugin? any errors in your php-error log that could shed a light on what is happening?

It works on my multisite without fail, activated in Network > Plugins

    Hey Frank,

It’s not a compatibility issue with domain mapping. It looks like a permissions issue with creating the cache directory. Of course I am using a windows server and would need to add permissions for each domain that I add for it to work. Reverting to the sub-domain just makes it easier on my end. It is possible that no others will experience this issue but wanted to share my work around just in case.

ah, so on windows each domain requires separate filesystem rights? didn’t know that. learning all the time ??

in that case; marking as resolved as more of an observation (and workaround) than a bug, no?

    Hey Frank,

Yes, it is an observation and work around for multisite on Windows server with domain mapping. If the plugin won’t activate from the mapped domain then try from the sub-domain. Once it is activated it works as expected from the mapped domain.
