• Hello I just build a site for me and everything worked great. I used hostgator for my hosting. Now Im trying to build a site for a friend and it wont let me upgrade to 4.0. He is using yahoo as a host. I keep getting a error message Download failed.: error setting certificate verify locations: CAfile: /usr/local/share/certs/ca-root-nss.crt CApath: none

It wont let me download themes either. Im new to wordpress so could be doing something wrong. Can someone help me figure this out? Its on version 3.3.1 if that helps too.

Versions of WordPress older than 3.7 did not include the CA certificates file that might be necessary for some older hosts to be able to talk to the www.ads-software.com server over HTTPS.

So if your server doesn’t have the latest root certificates installed, and you’re using a version of WordPress prior to that, you will need to update manually to 3.7 or later. After that, WordPress has its own copy of the root certificates and you should not encounter this problem.
