• Lastnight i had the primary domain for my www.ads-software.com site changed over (by bluehost), but this morning i tried to login to the site and it wont allow it. I tried resetting the password, but this also fails to do anything.
    Original site = ashng.com
    New main domain = 50bucksabroad.com
I am a bit of a newb but anything anyone can suggest to help would be much appreciated!
    Thanks

  • Your domain name has not been changed at all – just the new url re-directed to the old one. See Changing_The_Site_URL for details of how to do this properly.

    Thanks for your reply.

My Bluehost panel is definitely telling me that the primary domain is now 50bucksabroad.com. Yesterday the primary domain was ashng.com – where as now that is parked and redirecting to the main… Is my logic flawed here?

Did you change the URL setting in the site under Settings -> General to the new domain name?

    HELP SOMEBODY!

I inherited a website for the church when I came on board, but I have not logged in for awhile.

I tried every combination of the password I could think of, but after finding the little piece of paper it was written on, I discovered I HAD BEEN entering the right login. ?!?!

    I did a re-register with www.ads-software.com so now I’m IN… BUT I CAN’T GET TO THE SITE TO EDIT THE PAGE…. FRUSTRATION!!!

Any advice would be most HELPFUL. THANKS.

@reverendluther – please start your own thread and do not use all caps on these forums – it’s considered yelling. Perhaps reading this would be a good idea: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Forum_Welcome

When you are (calmly) ready to start a new thread, you can do that here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting#postform

    WPyogi – i think i may have!

In an attempt to have my ‘sub pages’ (?) in line with the new primary domain i did change something in the settings.

e.g. so that the about us page changed from ashng.com/aboutus (original primary) to 50bucksabroad.com/aboutus (new primary). Was this a mojor screw up?

    Thanks

Use these steps from Bluehost to make sure that both URLs are set to your new site location. If they are, you should be able to get to the login page for the wp-admin and use the Lost Password option.
