I urgently need a Woo developer to debug my site. My host have waived all responsibility for issues I think they created through site restoration.

My site broke on WordPress and plugin updates yesterday New Zealand time and discovered SSL certs expired (which was a host error). Site error was http Error 500.

Site restored on renaming plugin folder, but couldn’t find individual offending plugin.

Host restored site to pre-update state but during this data was lost.
    Now Woocommerce not working correctly:
Products not listed in orders – subtotal equal $0 but total is true amount and customers can go through payment gateways. But order details show zero product.
plus Orders from 9th – 12th June missing

    Other issues:
    Tax settings missing
API settings missing (to Logistics company)
Flexible Shipping settings all missing (Advanced Free Shipping Setting are not missing)
    Affiliate plugin settings/users/commissions all missing.
All of the above have been set for at least 18 months or more, so why is this data missing? Can it be restored?

    Help!

I’ve found via phyMyAdmin on cPanel that My site appears to have 2 main databases
The second one appears to have the missing data not showing on my website.
So how do I get the website to look at both databases? Why would a second one have been created? And why has it stopped looking at it?

Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Hey @nickycc!

Sorry for such a delayed reply here. Were you able to figure out the database issue?

Hi, not entirely – I lost about a months worth of data, and all my auto backups via host also didn’t have the data in them even though the site was working fine (with missing data up until updates June 12).

The tables missing from the main database were:
    wp_woocommerce_order_items
    wp_woocommerce_order_itemmeta
    wp_woocommerce_api_keys
    wp_woocommerce_tax_rates
    wp_woocommerce_tax_rate_locations
    wp_woocommerce_shipping_zones
    wp_woocommerce_shipping_zone_locations
    wp_woocommerce_shipping_zone_methods

A second database was active – that did have these tables but only data up to May 17th. We can’t figure out why/how and why it stopped being used. Or why the host database backups didn’t have the missing data or my own manual database backups. so I replicated all the settings I could (shipping, tax etc) from the second db.

Basically all my orders prior to June 12 have no product line data (wp_woocommerce_order_items) – so 4 years of orders – so I can’t use this for reporting or forecasting. This table is in the second database but only data up to May 17 – so I have this attached to a staging site for now while I am accessing the reporting.

Annoying but I don’t fancy trying to fix it (developers were all stumped too) in case something else goes wrong.

    Thanks!

Hey Nicky! If you haven’t done so already, and still want to see if you can figure out what happened, it might be helpful to take a look at the database logs (if you have access to them). You (or the developers) might also want to reach out to your host to see if they can provide any insight into how/why that additional database was created.

Hey Nicky! I hope that you were able to get this all sorted out, but if not feel free to create a new thread and let us know. Thanks!
