Woo Canvas Theme and PHP question

  • I have theme old Woo Canvas. Woo no longer supports I use for blog podcast.

    Should I try to updtate the PHP? Is the dangerous or necessary? I think 7.0 now.. or if it aint broke don’t fix it, thanks!

  • Generally speaking, you always want to go with the latest versions of software supported and recommended by WordPress.

    That said, I would be more concerned about migrating away from a completely abandoned theme that receives no security updates… before worrying about upgrading my PHP version (especially if you’re already at 7.0).

    Waiting before your abandoned theme breaks your site or gets hacked before you take action might not be the soundest practice ??
