I have tracked down a conflict between WooCommerce and BuddyPress. With WooCommerce activated users are blocked from cropping the Avatar profile photos that they upload in buddypress. I have done every iteration of plugins on an off and it is definitely WooCommerce that is causing the issue. The issue isn’t uploading the photos as the Cover photo can be uploaded but just in the cropping of the profile picture. A small box maybe 1×1 shows up in the corner and can’t be expanded and the photo isn’t shown. The admin can upload and crop the same photo but users cannot.
I have done every trouble shooting in the BuddyPress forums and the conflict is 100% with Woo Commerce. I’m afraid I will have to get rid of my woocommerce if I can’t find out a way to fix this.

    Hi @gsako,

    Thank you for reaching out!

You mentioned “Avatar profile photos that they upload in buddypress” so it appears an issue related to your BuddyPress plugin.

Please note that BuddyPress is a third-party plugin that we are unable to provide support for in this particular forum. So in this case, I would like to recommend contacting the plugin developers so that they can help you with this issue. Here is the link to their Github: https://github.com/buddypress/buddypress/pulls.

If they’re unable to assist I recommend checking out alternative plugins to BuddyPress or consulting a web developer who can look into the issue for you and get it fixed. Take a look at the official WooCommerce services here – https://woocommerce.com/customizations/.

    Best regards.

BuddyPress works perfectly fine with every combination of plugin that I use until I activate WooCommerce. Even when only Buddypress and WooCommerce are the only two plugins activated there is the conflict so the issue is somewhere between BuddyPress and WooCommerce. I can recreate the issue every time by activating WooCommerce and I can solve the conflict every time by turning off WooCommerce. It seems like there could be an issue on the WooCommerce end as well as BuddyPress.

    Hey @gsako,

As mentioned above we’re unable to solve compatibility issues with third-party plugins on this forum. You could roll back your current version of WooCommerce and check if it’s working with a previous version.

If it’s still not compatible you’d have to reach out to BuddyPress plugin developers to solve the issue or have a freelance developer look into this.

    Best.
