Woo Commerce causing WordPress Logouts

    Hi there,

    Having recently updated our website we have been experiencing issues with WordPress logging out periodically, especially when using the back end dashboard section after 2 or 3 clicks. We stripped all of the plugins and one by one re-added them all and discovered that its the Woo commerce plugin which is causing the issue. Everything is up to date so we are really puzzled as to what is causing this.

    This is interesting! Can I ask you to run another test – to verify if the same issue persists with only WooCommerce plugin enabled and Storefront theme active?

    It sounds like WooCommerce can conflict with another plugin on your site. From the first glance, there is a chance that this is WordPress Social Login or Theme My Login, but, honestly, plugin conflicts are so unpredictable that anything else can conflict too.

    Thank you so much for taking the time to reply.

    I have disable all plugins and yet it still does it ??

    Also when I login with my admin account it directs me straight to the dashboard? Not sure why it does that it didnt before.

    I am hesitant to change the theme because when I reinstate it, it seems to lose a lot of the styling which takes hours to put back in place

    Thank you for testing it! Now that’s weird indeed, I don’t see any issues with being logged out on my test site with WooCommerce and Storefront active. It makes me think that something else on your site can be responsible.

    Could you please enable WP_Debug on your site, log in, make sure you’re logged out by the system as you described, and let us know if you see any logs for the moment when it happened?

    Here are the basic steps:

    1. Login to your site through FTP
    2. Make a backup of wp-config.php
    3. Open this file and add the code below
    4. Save and re-upload this file

    Find this line of code: define('WP_DEBUG', false);

    Change it be this:

    // Enable WP_DEBUG mode
define('WP_DEBUG', true);

// Enable Debug logging to the /wp-content/debug.log file
define('WP_DEBUG_LOG', true);

// Disable display of errors and warnings

    Once you’ve done that, try making that error happen again. You will find a debug.log file created in your /wp-content/ folder.
