Woo commerce product pic

Hey,
Newbie here. I am making my website and its a slow process for me as I am learning and am finding my way slowly. My product pics are being cropped. I have looked online and can see the process has changed to fix – no longer in settings, display… etc…
Is it that I will have to take different images with more space around in order to get the image in or is there a simple fix? Is it to do with word press uploading in the media library? I would be very grateful for step by step simple instruction or if any one could direct me to simple docs that might help me understand.
