The idea is, people who have checkedout and selected paypal, can come back later to make a payment. Currently, woo orders are only received when the payment is successful.

    1. is it possible for woocommerce to create an order, when selecting paypal payment before they actually paid? (So when user closing paypal pop-up on the checkout page, woo will create an order, so that it can be paid at any time.)

    2. or is there an option to paypal open on the new page after checked by user, so that woo can makes an order first like other payment gateway.

    3. Does this feature already exist?

    Note:
On our dev website, when user checkout and select paypal in checkout page, I’ve double checked, no order has been received by woo.
I think its because its still at checkout page.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello @rendyrakean,

Thank you for reaching out to us, we are here to help.

We are using the default WooCommerce order logic, that is explained here. This results in the order being created when you click on the “Place order” or “PayPal” button on the checkout page. This cannot be adjusted because it will lead to many issues with our plugin and other processes.

We have tried other order creation timings in the past, but we encountered so much conflict with other plugins and internally with WooCommerce processes, that this is not worth trying again. We are working on the WooCommerce platform and need to adjust to the guidelines they have set out for payment plugins; there is not much room for us to play around with in this matter.

Sorry that we cannot provide any better response for you on this matter.

    Kind regards,
    Joost
