Woo Shop module display issue

i currently have a staging copy of my website that i’m trying to add woocommerce to. i have the live composer woo commerce plugin and on the shop page i have added the “woo shop” module three times. The first module has category 1 ticked as i only want to show category 1 in that module.
Module two has category 2 ticked as i only want to show those items under the above module

same goes for module three etc.

Anyhow, editing the template of the shop page with the three modules displays as i hoped it would ( first category up top, second category below it , third category below that. However once i get away from the template page and actually go to the /shop page only the first module shows content, the other two modules say

“No products were found matching your selection.” which isn’t true.

Not sure where to go to from here thanks
