All plugins are up to date, all seems to be working, but when my first renewals went to renew, I got mixed errors, and NONE renewed, so I lost over $200+ and counting. I’m losing more every day.

I have Reference Transactions enabled and use Paypal Payments Pro and Paypal Express Checkout.

    Errors Paypal gave me:

    PayFlow API call failed.

    Error Code: 23
Detailed Error Message: Invalid account number
    User IP: xx
    Order ID: 21091

    DoReferenceTransaction API call failed.

    Error Code: 81253
    Error Severity Code: Error
    Short Error Message: Missing Parameter
Detailed Error Message: ReferenceID : Mandatory parameter missing
    User IP: xx

I have another renewal in 10 hours, so I need this fixed ASAP!!!!!!!!

I’m sorry for the delay responding here. Are these failures coming from profiles that were setup with Express Checkout, Payment Pro, or both?

Do you have logging enabled in our plugin? Can you submit a ticket here and provide a copy of the log file?

    I have the same problem.

    Error Code: 81253
    Error Severity Code: Error
    Short Error Message: Missing Parameter
Detailed Error Message: ReferenceID : Mandatory parameter missing User IP: 202.146.215.119

was there an answer to this error?

@aussieles, Can you very that you’re running the latest version of Woo Subscriptions and our PayPal for Woo plugins?

    Thanks for the rapid reply

Yes. I just updated Paypal for Woo and the same problem error code was returned.

Did you make sure to clear out any caching / CDN services you have running after updating the plugins?

Also, is this happening with Express Checkout, PayFlow, DoDirectPayment, or which gateway specifically?

Retried : Cleared cache – still not working

    Express checkout

Okay, that’s odd. We’ll see if we can reproduce that here. Did you recently updated Woo subscriptions, too? Are you sure you’re running the latest version of that plugin as well as ours?

Do you know if, by chance, the profile was created with a previous version of Woo Subscriptions and now the renewals are failing on the latest versions?

    Sorry for the late response.

WooCommerce Subscription is a new install – currently version 2.2.11

    Paypal for Woo 1.4.6.2

Just to update anybody else that sees this, you need to make sure “Allow Reference Transactions” is enabled inside your PayPal Manager (PayFlow) account.

For the record, I did have reference transactions enabled. I’d called and confirmed with Paypal multiple times, too. I still lost $1400 in monthly recurring revenue.

@andigraphix, Did you end up finding another solution that’s working well, or are you stuck in limbo? We have plenty of people using our plugin successfully with subscriptions, so we’d be happy to work with you to figure out what’s going on and get it fixed if you’re interested. Just let us know.
