WooCom Help: Shipping Classes

I’ll first apologize if posting in the wrong location, I’ve read through several posts and I’m not finding examples of what I’m trying to do.

Selling Books with a ‘flat rate’ shipping fee, want to add that same shipping to accrued products. In other words, 3 products each charging the same shipping rate.

Added a ‘Shipping Class’, however when adding the shipping class cost, it only doubles the the cost of shipping, doesn’t set the cost per item.

Could someone walk me through the process, or is there an associated plug-in I need. I’m referring to woocommerce > shipping > flat rate

Thanks in advance and forgive me if I’ve not researched this enough, I’ve hit a wall and perhaps this is a bug or not something I’m able to set up.
