Woocomerce category shortcode to display more than 12 products?

I was referring to this instruction:

so, instead of 'number', try to use 'per_page'

where is that located? and how do i include that in my child theme?

try and change your shortcode from:

[product_category category="bags" number="16"]

to:

[product_category category="bags" per_page="16"]

cool that works to add more products on the page but if we could get it to paginate that would be awesome
