• I have been having challenges with my Woocomerce product search. When you search for available products on my site, it does not show up. Technical the search returns and empty result, meaning that the product is not available. Sometimes, when you search for a product, the result shows up but with completely unrelated attributes and products. This is sickening and frustrating because it is driving my customers away

I have tried to re-index and clean up all cache but nothing i have done seems to be working.

I would appreciate any help i can get to resolve this problem asap.

    Hi there @ocechebiri

I understand you are having issues with products not showing up in your site’s product search.

    Testing search

I viewed your site https://digitnetstore.com/ and as a test, I tried searching for the term switch and it brought up 131 results:

    Steps to replicate

As the product search does appear to be working from our end, it would be helpful if you could confirm the steps to replicate the issue. For example, what search terms to test and (approximately) how many results we should expect to see generated?

Also, are you finding this issue is affecting specific products or categories only?

Lastly, can you please confirm you have any affected products set to be visible in the site’s search results from the product editor screen:

We will be standing by for your response to help further.

    Thanks!

    Dear @theabhig,

Thank you for responding promptly to me.
    Scenario 1

Take for instance, i uploaded some products two days ago and i categorize them as ” Video Conference IP Phone” & “Video Conference Phone” respective. Bothe products have Color and Brand as t attribute. When You search for any of these products, it does not show up in search result.

    Scenario 2
I uploaded some products and them created two separate categories ” Headphone” & “Headset” respectively. These products have same attributes as Color, Brand, and
Over-the-head-headset respectively. When you search for Headset, it shows up in search result but with the wrong attributes and unrelated products that are completely not in the same category or attributes. Secondly, when you search for “Headphone” nothing shows up at all.

Thank you again for your support. I think i have sorted out the issue now. I understand WooCommerce’s default search is built on WordPress’s default search and it searches only product titles and description. Apparently i will be needing a third party plugin
