So where do I change woocommerce preferences? For example the number of product columns on the Shop page jumps out immediately.

I did a quick search on WooCommerce documentation, you can use the Product Block that is provided by the WooCommerce Block plugin. This block allows you to set how many products can be displayed on a page.

Correct. Out of the box the default Shop page should be recognized by this theme though with resorting changes via short codes. This was just one example though.

Other typical Woocommerce settings such as the Site Notice, Related Products, etc (and there are more) are also not facilitated within this theme.

Yes they can somewhat be controlled by functions via a code snippet or placed in a child theme functions.php file but that shouldn’t be the default way. Whenever this theme is activated the standard Customizer is no longer available. That relegates this theme to be pretty much a “blog only” theme in my opinion.

The only solution for Woocommerce via this theme is if they add back the Customizer where Woo can be configured easily.

    Hi @midipedalboards

Just to clarify and correct some misunderstandings here. It is not the theme that has removed the Customizer. The admin link to the Customizer is removed by core WordPress when a block theme is active.

However, up until recently, WooCommerce was putting the Customizer link back in place even when a block theme was active. This allowed easy access to the WooCommerce settings in the customizer, such as the Store Notice and Product Catalog. It appears that the latest version of WooCommerce the customizer link is not present, although the customizer does still exist and can be accessed by appending /wp-admin/customize.php to the end of your site URL.

Curious and ironic at the same time. Since WP and Woo are both part of Automattic (among notable others like JetPack) removing the customizer link seems somewhat self defeating as Twenty Twenty-Three seems to outperform Storefront (the theme they push for Woocommerce).

But thank you for that information. Unfortunately I don’t want to have to manually append a URL every time I need to get to the Customizer.

I think you may find this interesting: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/issues/34430

There is a comment on there about why this change was made. Personally I think removing the customizer link adds to the confusion in some circumstances.

It’s open source so feel free to chime in on the WC github with any suggestions you may have.

It seems there still exists a direct link to the customizer from your dashboard in ‘WooCommerce’ > ‘Home’ > ‘Personalize my store’
