    Hello,

After installing WooCommerce every visit to a page adds ?v= followed by a 12 digit code.

    For example: MyWebsite.Domain/graphics/?v=93b46a3fc67d

    Should be:
    MyWebsite.Domain/graphics/

And it’s added to every single page. If I disable WooCommerce it disappears. It’s rather unsightly and I’d like to remove it. But I’m not sure how it started appearing.

    Thank you

You have set the default customer location in settings to be “‘Geolocate (with page caching support)”. This appends the URL.

The same thing was driving me mad, and I couldn’t figure out what was causing it!
Good thing i found this thread! Trying to search for something with “?v=” was pretty much impossible.

worth noting is that having this enabled practically disabled things like site search and previews, since the strings for those functions were overridden by the geolocation string.

Have now turned it off, and will keep it turned off.

    Thank you!

Will not it create mass duplicate content, for search engines?
If they crawl from various locations, they may get different URLs with same content, right?

That URL is coming from standard base address setting in Woocommerce
When you choose geolocation with caching support for page, it will add that ?v=xxxx string because it’s capturing the visitors base address

    Hello,

Can anyone help me out how to perform /call any function while selected gateway report about the confirmation transaction to the merchant??

Man, I had that same problem with the string at the end of my address. I was looking to solve another problem and stumbled across this thread. What’s kind of funny though, the same time I had enabled the geo… setting, I was getting my SSL installed. As soon as I got the email that everything was installed I went to my sight and noticed my home page was gone and every other page had hat weird string. I called my host and they been trying to figure it out for like 4 days. I feel bad for them. But so glad it is fixed.
    Thank you for the post.

    Whoaaa… FINALLY.

I also have this kind of issue. I was trying to googling using the weird trailing “?v=” and it gave me no result (lol… obviously, didn’t realize that it’s different based on geolocate cache setting on WooCommerce).

Now I can continue selling my stuffs using WooCommerce. Beautifully, of course ??

Thanks in advance to all of you guys. And specially to Mike Jolley.

    Hi,

    Can someone help me?

After Checkout i am getting “Invalid Shipment Method

    Hi,
I have another problem with URL…
I had to activate “Geolocate (with page caching support)” to solve a problem with the prices. Prices were displayed without VAT.

If you activate that option in settings you solve price visualization problem … do you know how I can fix both things, URL and VAT display?

    Thanks

THANKS ALOT FOR THIS BEAUTIFUL HELP BUT ANOTHER THING, MY POST SHARED ON FACECBOOK DON’T COME WIT THE PRODUCT IMAGE STILL NEED HELP WITH THAT.

The Highest of Fives is hereby awarded to Mr Jolley. Thanks mate.
