Hi all, I need some help please…

I am by no means an expert user although I’d rate myself in the upper beginner area regarding WordPress / Woocommerce experience, but my coding knowledge is roughly sitting at zero – so a reply in English rather than Programming Language would be appreciated ;-).

When I try to log into my WordPress site I get the following error message:

    “Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator at [email protected] to inform them of the time this error occurred, and the actions you performed just before this error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.”

Strangely though, when I go to my site and I click on the bar at the top of screen where you can edit a product / customise etc. then takes me to that product and allows me access to the backend of WordPress that way.

I’ve managed to narrow the problem down to the Woocommerce Admin Plugin. I have Version 0.18.0 installed but have deactivated it due to this problem.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

I found an article on Debugging which looks like it might give me more detail as to what the actual problem is but I don’t trust my knowledge to fix it properly without help.

I’d like to get it fixed if I can, but if I can’t then I’m just going to delete the plugin.

    Any suggestions?

Thanks for any feedback / help.

    Regards.

    Sara

    Hi @muggles,

Does the internal server error still happen when only WooCommerce and WooCommerce Admin are the only plugins active? It may also be good to check in with your host to see if they have any error logs that have further info on the 500 errors. Typically it’s due to needing to increase memory limits.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
