Woocommerce analytics download emails empty report

    I am having trouble getting the download file for my analytics/products report. For smaller timeframes I can download the report directly and the CSV file looks fine. For larger timeframes, I can see the data via the browser but when I try to download the file, it emails a link to an empty CSV file.

    I have found several previous topics related to this issue but none of them have any resolution other than trying another browser to open the file which I have done. In Chrome nothing happens when I click on the download link, but in Firefox an empty file downloads.

    I have checked my error logs and there are no fatal errors at the time of the report generation.

    Thanks for reaching out!

    I understand that you are receiving an empty CSV file when trying to download the analytics report for a larger time frame on your site.

    You mentioned as well that there are no error logs during the report generation.

    I would suggest performing a full conflict test:

    • Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
    • Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
    • Repeat the action that is causing the problem

    If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

    Before you start

    • First, please make sure you have a good backup in place of your full site and database. Most hosting companies have this included in the subscription, but you could also consider using a service like Jetpack. If something goes wrong, it’s nice to know that you can restore your site.
    • Second, I would suggest installing a plugin called Health Check & Troubleshooting. This is a plugin developed by the WordPress community and it allows you to disable plugins without affecting your current site visitors.

    You can make use of a staging/test site to proceed with the conflict test recommended above.

    If your host doesn’t offer that option, we recommend WP Staging for quickly spinning up a new test site.

    I set up a staging area and completed the conflict test. I was able to reproduce the error by enabling WP SendGrid SMTP (Version 1.0.6 | By InkThemes)

    Do you have any advice as to how to resolve this or do you have a recommendation of a different plugin for SendGrid integration?

    I tried using a different SMTP plugin and had the same problem. I tried Fluent SMTP (Version 2.1.2 | By FluentSMTP & WPManageNinja Team). The email log doesn’t indicate any errors. It does show 0 attachments for the report email.

    I understand that you ran the conflict test with all plugins disabled except WooCommerce and WP SendGrid SMTP: by InkThemes – 1.0.6, but the issue persisted. As a next step you would want to reach out to the plugin’s support team in this regard: https://wpmailsmtp.com/contact/
