I would assume that Shopify and BigCommerce are the main competitors for eCommerce platforms. I am wondering why both of these are working with Vercel and their AI to provide enhanced website displays but it seems WooCommerce is not involved. Wix is also on board along with a few others. Details here https://vercel.com/integrations

I have always recommended WooCommerce but if the ability to use AI and headless theme integration with other platforms gets ahead I may have to rethink the options for clients.

  • Hi @adrian33000,

I understand your concern about WooCommerce not being integrated with AI. It’s worth noting that WooCommerce is a highly flexible and customizable platform that supports a wide range of plugins and themes, including some that offer AI capabilities and headless CMS features.

However, we always strive to improve and expand our services. Your feedback regarding the integration of WooCommerce with AI is highly valuable, and we will certainly pass it on to our development team.

In the meantime, we appreciate your continued support for WooCommerce.

Both Shopify and BigCommerce are proprietary platforms whereas WooCommerce is open source. Meaning that devs like myself and even @ckadenge and others help contribute to its success and scale.

There is no comparison when WooCommerce is used by 10x more users around the world than either of the two you mentioned. BigCommerce is used by something like 40k users and Shopify only 1M or so and WooCommerce being open source is used by 6M to even more now.

Those two companies have a board, whereas Woo has a base team really, not a board of investors to listen to

    Hey @adrian33000,

Along with what @ckadenge and @serafinnyc explained, while we currently do not have a direct integration with Vercel, we offer various plugins and extensions that can provide similar functionalities.

As for AI, we understand its growing importance in the eCommerce industry. We continuously explore opportunities to incorporate AI into our platform to enhance the user experience. However, you can use a plugin like Jetpack AI or AI Assistant by KoiLab to elevate your WooCommerce store and stay ahead of the competition.

We highly value your feedback and it would be great to have you add your ideas as a feature request, which is where developers go to look for future plugin features and improvements.

Thank you for your continued support and recommendations of WooCommerce. Our priority is to ensure we meet the evolving needs of our customers, and we’re committed to providing the best eCommerce solution for you and your clients.

    Hi

Thanks for the responses and interest shown. I appreciate it. My main point really was to bring to your attention what was being done on other eCommerce platforms which may have been overlooked. AI is moving so rapidly these days that it is difficult to keep up with all the advances and I wanted to ensure that WooCommerce was at least aware of what other competitors had taken advantage of and were incorporating into their themes.

The ability to now be able to write a description of what is wanted on a webpage and have AI produce it and provide the code needed for implementation is quite amazing.

    Thanks again
