Hello all, I have migrated a WP + WooCommerce install from one server to a new server, the only change I have made is to add WP Mail SMTP plugin for sending email. I have set the ‘force’ flag and WooCommerce is sending emails, via office365 SMTP server, there is no problem there all emails send and are received no problem.

The only slight issue we are having is on the old server emails had HTML formatting, and used the colours set in the Email preferences tab in WooCommerce. On the new server the emails are just plain text. I have posted a topic on the WP Mail SMTP forum and they are saying they would not remove any formatting, now I am wondering if anyone else has had this, I did search and didnt find anything, or is the ‘force’ option preventing formatting being applied? I would not have thought so, because the email would have been created before being sent.

Any Guidance would be greatly received, as I cannot see any settings that would effect this.

Thanks for your help in advance,

    Leyton.

  • If you go into the individual email settings (WooCommerce -> Settings -> Emails -> [choose an email]), is the “Email type” set to plain text? If so, and if it won’t let you change it to anything else, try the stuff in the last section here.

    Hi there

Are you seeing plain text email when the email is triggered within WordPress as well or only in the inbox? If you’re unsure how to check that, have a look at https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/email-log/ that’ll keep a log of all emails (and its content) triggered in WordPress/WooCommerce

Now resolved, problem was xml was missing from php… Thanks to @mailmechanic his post pointed me in the correct direction, I would have had to use the source otherwise. Many thanks for all your help.
