    Hello,

I use printful integrated with WooCommerce and I use a company for the domain host and a company for the server host. Everything was working fine in regards of the WooCommerce API authentication until I’ve changed domain host and I transferred my domain.

Now, Printful plugin is reporting an error related with WooCommerce API authentication that says:

    WooCommerce authentication URL access FAIL

Some hosts have unnecessarily intrusive security checks in place that prevent WooCommerce API authentication from working (mod_security rule #1234234). If this check fails, you will not be able authorize Printful app.

I would like to know from you, if you can tell me who is the part involved in this interaction with the WooCommerce authentication URL.

Since everything was fine in this direction, with the previously host domain paired with the actual host server, I thought that the problem was with the host domain, based on the fact that if:

    A + B works fine and
C + B works bad, then C is the problem

so I’ve contacted the host domain which by the way has also a documentation about mod_security rule which state to contact their support in order to be white listed, and this is also what Printful told me to do, documentation that is missing from the host server.

So I’ve talked with the host domain support which:

First, they told me to give them instructions in order to solve the problme
Then, that everything was fine from their side because with them I only have an hosted domain and not a hosting server package.

So I’ve talked with the host server support, which obviously told me is not their problem but of the host domain.

Now, I know is not your business but I’m feeling like the lonely poo of a pigeon in the middle of an highway, since this is the WooCommerce authentication API I thought that may be you know with who WC API is communicating, the host domain or the host server.

    Thank you for your mercy.
    Erik

    Hi Erik,

ModSecurity (mod_security) is definitely on the server side of things, I don’t know how a domain could block API requests or authentications. ??

Unless I’m wrong, it sounds like the host is confused.

Have you already tried disconnecting and re-authorizing Printful on the site now that the domain has moved to a new registrar?

So you are telling me that if it’s not a bug, the problem is not with Namecheap but with Cloudways where I have WooCoommerce…

    I wanna die -_-

There’s not really a way to disconnect Printful plugin, unless using the common “Deactivate/Activate” in the plugins list, I will try to ask to Printful if is fine or if in doing so I will have then to manual resync all the print file and the relative products.

    UPDATE:

It solved by itself. Today I’ve logged WooCommerce and there was no fail alert anymore, thank you.
