When will this plugin be compatible with the woocommerce checkout and cart pages now that they use blocks instead of the deprecated shortcode or as they call it, classic checkout?

This is the error it gives.

Some active extensions do not yet support this block. This may impact the shopper experience.

This plugin is compatible with the cart and checkout block and has been for several years. That notice is an issue on WooCommerce’s end which we have reported. https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/issues/44712

Interestingly that notice doesn’t show for any of their gateways…

This is the error it gives.

That’s a notice, not an error that would affect any functionality. You can test for yourself and confirm the plugin works perfectly with the cart and checkout block.

Thank you for the prompt response and clarifying this for me. By them doing this they are giving people the impression that they need to switch to their featureless Braintree plugin. I’m happy it works so I can continue using your plugin. Thanks

Yes, that is our concern as well. Hopefully there’s a simple explanation or it’s a simple oversight on their part.

After doing some testing I cannot get the PayPal method to display. I went as far as creating a development site with just Woo and your plugin installed and it still doesn’t display. This is with the woo storefront theme. Any help would be great!

Where are you expecting to see it? With the Checkout Block, it’s only visible in the Express Checkout section, so you need to enable that in the PayPal Settings page.

Blocks are much more restrictive and Woo doesn’t provide an easy way to render PayPal in multiple locations like the checkout shortcode does.

The blocks are actually pretty limited right now compared to the checkout shortcode.

I was expecting it to be in the payment section with the other payment methods. I guess they are trying to be more like shopify in limiting customization. Thanks for the help.

Yes, it looks that way. We have managed to get around that limitation with our PayPal plugin.

We might add that support in a future release of the Braintree plugin but want the checkout block to become more stable first.
