Woocommerce Cart Messages

Hello, I am working on a website with a simple woocommerce setup. I am using Elementor Pro & Hello Theme. I am trying to do a couple things to finish the cart pages. I was able to style the cart/checkout pages easy enough using Elementor and PowerPacks plugins.

I am trying to get the cart messages wrapper (item added, quantity changed, etc.) added to the top of the cart page without using another plugin. It appears when the cart is empty, but I would like them displayed on the cart page whenever a change is made along with the “Continue Shopping” button. I believe there may be a filter I can add but not sure exactly which code snippet to use. And would it be better in the functions.php of the child theme, or a template file?

If I get that working I also would like to have the Continue shopping button to link to the previous page as there are 2 different shop pages.

One other thing I am trying to do is to set a small cart button to appear in the header only when there is an item in the cart. I am able to create a cart button easy enough in elementor which displays count, but cannot hide it when empty.
