WooCommerce Cart not showing at all

I’ve been researching this for 4 days now, and can’t figure this out. I downloaded the Woocommerce plugin, deleted the normal wrapper functions, added my own custom wrapper functions, but the cart page wouldn’t show up. My Shop page shows up fine, but when I add an item to cart, then click ‘View Cart’, it takes me either to a page with no content on it.
I switched over to the 2016 template to double-check, and it all works fine there, but I can’t get it to work in my custom template. I’ve got the [woocommerce_cart] entered in HTML mode on my Pages, made sure the Settings were pointing to my cart page, copied the direct code from the 2016 page.php template, etc. I can’t make it show up! I also tried adding a woocommerce.php page with the ‘woocommerce_content()’ call, but nothing there either. I’ve also resaved and checked permalinks.
