When a customer goes to our checkout with woocommerce and clicks on place order, the problem is after a customer places there order if they decided to hit the back button instead of closing at the screen, the checkout places another order, because the customer for whatever reason decided to hit the back button, is there a way in our checkout to stop having our checkout processing multiple orders because the customer decided to hit the back button? For some reason that has never been a problem until the last few weeks and now its happening a lot.

    Hi there,

So, just to make sure I understand the issue. It’s when a customer hits the “back” button in the browser FROM the “thank you” page that a new order is created? Is this happening with a specific payment gateway only or with any of them?

Yes thats correct. We only have one payment option for the last two years and all of sudden we have this issue. Once a customer checkouts and gets the thank you page, if for whatever reason they decide to click the bank back button or even refresh, the thank you payment page, another order is created.

Ok, if you’re using any gateway sold on woocommerce.com, can you please open a ticket at https://woocommerce.com/support?

    Many thanks

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
