    Hello

I have a query regarding WooCommerce Conversion Tracking.

We run the following Campaigns using your plugin:

    1. Google AdWords Search Ads
    2. Google Shopping Ads
    3. Google Remarketing Ads

    Scenario

The user clicks on a Google Ad and reaches a WooCommerce product landing page. The user makes a purchase and is shown a WooCommerce Order-Received page as below:

    https://www.domain.com/checkout/order-received/

We wish that when they reach this page /checkout/order-received/ then its counted as a conversion

    Issue

    1. Currently we see that under our Google Ads account, Conversions are setup by ROI Hunter Easy using:

Category = Other (not Purchases, which would normally be expected)

    2. Chrome Tag Manager shows that the Conversion Tag is not firing on the page /checkout/order-received/ and it shows an error as below:

No Global Site Tag or Google Tag Manager tag found on the page

    3. Chrome Tag Manager shows that the Conversion Tag is firing on the page /checkout/ but with an error as below:

A Global Site Tag was found for “AW-XXXXXXX”, but no gtag config calls were detected

    4. The Google Analytics account is setup with the Goal for Conversion with a URL /checkout/

Based on the above it seems that conversions will never be tracked because gtag config calls were detected on /checkout/ . Also since many users would reach to /checkout/ and not purchase it ill give the wrong conversion data even it did track.

    Request for solution

    1. What do I need to do to setup up Global Tag and Conversion tracking for the URL /checkout/order-received/ . This is most appropriate as it would only show to the users after completing the purchase. This is also the return URL for the Paypal gateway we use so it would track appropriately for payments in USD.

    2. Do I need to change the Goal URL under Google Analytics too?

    2. Under Google AdWords the Conversion has been setup such that the ‘Value = Use different values”. Does ROI Hunter integrate with Adwords to pick up the value of the product purchased directly or we need any additional steps to be performed?

Look forward to your response please.

    Best wishes.

  • Hello, Tom from ROI Hunter Easy.
    Thank you for reaching us.
Allow me to answer all of your questions one by one.

    1. As for the category of conversion tracker, it’s not really important. We use “Other” by default by in case you want to change it to “Purchase”, go ahead, it has no impact whatsoever.

    2. and 3. Our Google tag is inserted only on the product page and add to cart page. In case you can’t see the tag on any other page, it is intended. Our events are named as follows: Product page – offerdetail, Add to cart – conversionintent.

    4. Google Analytics is not integrated with our app at all. You don’t have to set anything in there.

In case I missed anything, feel free to ask additional questions at [email protected].

    With best regards,
    Tom.
