I’m using coupon codes as gift certificates. Is there a way for this to include shipping charges? Say someone buys a $20 gift certificate and I issue a $20 coupon. Shipping is $5 so if they buy a $15 item, they should be able to use the remaining $5 for shipping. As is stands now, the $5 balance goes to waste and they have to pay shipping out of pocket. I would like for gifted users to not have to enter their own PayPal info etc. My only option at this point is to offer free shipping on all gift certificates.

  • Same issue here, and as far as I can tell, this isn’t possible. I’ve not seen a gift certificate system for woo yet that actually treats gift certificates as an actual currency, instead of some ‘discount’ to be applied before everything else is calculated.

We have this problem on a client site using the gift-certificate-pro plugin from ignitewoo – they just create ‘coupons’ in the general system, but coupons are applied before the checkout page. A true ‘gift certificate’ system would have the option of using the gift certificate as another form of payment.

I keep wanting to think this is ‘in there’ somehow, but I’m about 95% sure this just isn’t possible.

    Hi JBHorne,

did you find any good solution for that. Have been googling for some time no, but there seems to be no solution for it.
