woocommerce dimensions switcher

  • Hi All, We have a woocommerce store where the item are sold by the square meter but we need to be able to change the dimensions to feet, inches or mm. Have anyone done this or can suggest a why for the site user/customer to do this from the front end of the site.

    Are you asking how to set them so that they regularly change based off of what the user chooses? If so that is a different question.

    If not, under product specifications in the WooCommerce plug-in under the individual product you can choose to set the product dimensions to the specific type of measurement you would like to use. (i.e., feet, meters, etc.)

    Yes, I’d like the users to be able to change the unit of measurement (i.e., feet, meters, etc.) I’d like user to be able to select the type of measurement via a radio button.

    That would be a great add-on, maybe a good idea for a plugin. From what I can see there is not an option to do that, if anyone does know of one I would be very intrigued to learn of it.

    As you may see, many clothing stores online that sell to multiple countries have conversion charts on each of their product pages. This may be something to look into it if your product allows for such thing. You could maybe even look into embedding a calculator that makes it easier for the buyer to find specific dimensions in a unit of measurement they are not familiar with. As far as just a button to push though, I am just not sure it exists yet.

    But honestly, having to figure out my own measurements for something I want to purchase has never stopped me before. If anything I find it interesting to see how other countries measurements relate to our own.
