WooCommerce Downloadable Product Link HTTP 500 Error

    Downloadable products stopped working in WooCommerce.

    Am using WordPress 4.3.1, with the Book Store theme. The downloadable PDF products also use the watermarking feature in the WooCommerce settings. The test product had worked in August, but now users receive this message after successful ordering:

    The website cannot display the page
    HTTP 500

    Have tried shortened links. Have tested all the product links to ensure they work individually. The downloads are set up as “Force Download”.

    The only change from when it worked until now is the security update on WordPress on September 15.

    Any ideas what it isn’t working?
